DOBSON, N.C. -- A Dobson woman will spend Christmas behind bars after pleading guilty to embezzling more than $1 million from Mount Airy’s Toyota dealership.
The Dobson woman, whose address has been given as 1143 Turkey Ford Road, was sentenced this week in Surry Superior Court, almost one year to the day after the charges against her came to light through a Mount Airy Police Department investigation.
A defense request to allow Lewis to delay the start of her active sentence was denied by Judge L. Todd Burke of Winston-Salem, who presided over the case, and the defendant was ordered to begin serving her term immediately.
Mr C thinks -This "baby-boomer" generation were all raised with visions of millions of dollars dancing in their heads. Now that they have had their day and are retiring, they realize they are not as well off as they should have been-usually because they pissed through so much money over the last 30 - 40 years of their working careers.
Now you turn on the TV or open the news paper everyday to read another story of someone who fits this description - BROKE, OLD, RETIRING - but not going down like that! Seems she was just doing what Washington does everyday.
